This Sunday we will ask the church to vote on the final project scope and cost of our current capital project during our annual business meeting. You are invited to come and be involved in this discussion and decision that will impact our church’s future.
The scope of the project includes a new four-story preschool/children’s building, with the first three floors completed to house all of our children ages birth through 6th grade. It also includes a complete renovation of the first floor of the Detroit Tower for older adults and additional adult space, as funds allow.
The cost for this project is $12.5 million dollars. There are currently pledges toward this project totaling $8.6 million (including $1 million from the FBC Tulsa Foundation) and more than $1 million from capital funds the church has on-hand. Church leadership continues to seek additional commitments to bridge the gap between costs and pledges.
If the church approves the plan, as presented, our architects will begin work immediately on construction documents, which will be complete in May. The project will most likely go out for bids in June and we can begin construction in the summer, as early as July.
This year will certainly be an exciting one, as we begin construction and see the plans take shape for our campus areas that will house preschoolers, children, and adults for many years to come. Please commit this project to prayer, and make a commitment to be faithful in your presence in community here throughout construction.Share
