- What the Bible says about giving?
“For everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you…” 1 Chronicles 29:11-1 Giving is an act of worship. True worship begins when you realize that everything you have (your time, talents, possessions, etc.) belongs to God.
- How should my attitude be?
God wants you to be CHEERFUL!
“Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a CHEERFUL giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
- What is my responsibility?
God calls you to be His good STEWARD (one entrusted with another’s wealth). “With the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard what has been ENTRUSTED to you.” 2 Timothy 1:14
- Where should my financial priorities be?
God’s provision to you is a TREASURE to be used for His purposes. “Do not store up for yourselves TREASURES on earth… But store up for yourselves TREASURES in heaven… For where you TREASURE is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
- What is supported through the General Budget?
The General Budget represents the annual budget approved by the church. In addition to operating and personnel costs, the General Budget supports the church’s ministries to all ages, Sunday worship, evangelism, and mission efforts at the local, state, national and international level. Please contact the financial office for more information.
- What are the advantages of recurring donation requests?
Recurring donation requests allow you to have a stated amount automatically drawn from your bank account or charged to your debit card weekly, biweekly, or monthly. It provides not only a secure, paper-less and convenient option, but allows you to establish a disciplined giving pattern.
- When will my donation be drawn from my account or charged to my debit card?
Online Giving will process your transactions on a daily basis and submit them for final processing within 24 hours. We understand that it is important to know what the status of your transaction is. Your transaction will be immediately registered in the Online Giving system and made available to you from your Online Giving pages.
- Without a canceled check or receipt, how do I document my contribution?
The First Baptist Church Finance Office mails quarterly and year-end contribution statements which serve as sufficient documentation for IRS tax purposes.
- How do I change the account or debit card information my recurring donation is being charged to?
Click on the “Online Giving” and login to your account. You can edit your profile from the ‘View History’ tab.

If you text “help” you will receive a reply that states: “To give enter the amount you want to give, such as 100. You can also give to a specific fund by typing it after your amount, such as 100 building fund.”
If you text “reset” you will receive a reply that states: “Saved card information successfully removed. Please register your card information again when making your next gift by texting an amount to this number.”
