On Monday, First Baptist Tulsa, Nabholz Construction and HH Architects celebrated the completion of steel work on our new children and preschool building with a topping out ceremony and lunch. In building construction, topping out is a builders’ rite traditionally held when the last beam is placed atop a structure during its construction. All church staff, project architects and construction workers were invited to celebrate this exciting milestone in the construction project. First Baptist Tulsa Maintenance Director Richard Barbee prepared the barbecue, and church staff members provided side dishes and served food to the architects and crew members.
After FBC staff, HH Architects and Nabholz Construction workers signed the top steel beam, construction crews placed a Christmas tree at the very top of the new building structure. This is traditional with most topping out ceremonies, in addition to placing a cross.
We are thankful for God’s provision and for the amazing team that has worked to make this project a reality, and we ask for His blessing on the remaining construction!
