Legacy is defined as anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor. A legacy can be anything that puts a stamp on the future and serves as a contribution to future generations. People want to leave a legacy because they want to feel that their life mattered and has an impact beyond their years on earth.
The First Baptist Church of Tulsa Foundation offers the opportunity to leave a legacy by giving tangibly to Kingdom work for many years beyond your lifetime. When you leave a gift to the Foundation, the money is invested and all interest and dividends earned are available to donate to the church for use in ministry. The gift you leave stays invested with the Foundation and continues to generate income until the Lord returns.
The FBC Foundation recently made a donation to First Baptist Tulsa that was used towards the Habitat for Humanity house currently under construction. In fact, because former Foundation member Bob Jackson was so instrumental in the establishment of the Foundation and because of his tireless efforts in promoting this endowment, the Habitat House is dedicated to his memory.
If you would like help setting up a will or trust, or if you simply want to talk with someone about legacy giving through the FBC Tulsa Foundation, call Bobby Hart at (918) 594-5070 or email him at email@example.com and meet with one of our trustees; Tracy Manly, Terry Smith or Paul Teel. By leaving an estate gift, you could qualify for $500 to defray attorney fees.
