Women at First encourages all the women of First Baptist to develop and flourish in the love of God.
While embracing our WMU roots, Women at First is devoted to creating avenues and activities that connect us in life-giving ways to one another and the world around us. Through opportunities for education, connection, and missions we offer our unique selves to the service of God’s Kingdom. Together, we can make a difference in the world for Him!
There are always new events to attend and studies to join-find out more in our Facebook Group, we would love to get to know you!
Leading the body of Christ to embrace and echo God's heart for the world.
Mentoring at First
Mentorship gives women an opportunity to develop and nurture deep spiritual relationships based on trust, vulnerability, and accountability in a world that seems to be increasingly shallow. We must be intentional in order to nurture the encouraging, loving relationships God uniquely designed women to share. Call (918) 587-1571 or email Alex Temple.
The next Women at First Annual retreat will be held April 8 & 9, 2022. Keep your eyes open for more information coming soon, and contact Lyndsay Wagner with any questions or if you'd like to join her team! Women at First also hosts events throughout the year. Watch the announcements, as well as our Facebook and Instagram pages for those dates, or contact Natalie Colclasure if you'd like to join the Evening Events Team.
Women's Bible Studies
Women at First offers a variety of Bible studies at the church on Wednesday morning and Wednesday evening, as well as in homes on weeknights. Please contact Melanie Morgan if you are interested in leading, hosting, or attending a Bible Study.
Women at First Table Groups are formed with the purpose of gathering small groups of women together monthly, creating a space for them to feel known and providing an environment for conversation about following God and giving Him away. To create or connect with a Table group, please contact Janet Frazer.
Knits and Pieces
The women of Knits and Pieces provide handmade shawls and quilts to our members who are going through difficult periods in their lives, providing a physical symbol of God’s love which they can wrap themselves in or touch to feel His presence. Beginners are always welcome! We will teach you to crochet, knit or quilt! Meets Thursdays, 10:30 am – Noon, Room 311 in the North Building. Contact: Laura Fisher.
